EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH ORGANIC FARMING

Vegetable saplings and organic fertilizers were distributed in Vellimon as part of the WE-LivE project, under the supervision of FCDP. An awareness class for women was also conducted by Mrs. Anjana (Agriculture Officer Perinad) who encouraged women to take organic farming to an entrepreneurial level, beyond kitchen gardens. She explained the harvesting of various crops and how to protect them from microorganisms. Mrs. Lacticia Martin, (President TMS) presided over the ceremony, Mrs. Anjana distributed vegetable saplings and fertilizers to the women. The function was attended by about 30 women, and Miss. Anna Saju, Coordinator of WE-LivE, expressed her gratitude.
