Inauguration of Children's Parliament held

Don Bosco Children's Forum, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Quilon Heritage and Don Bosco College Kottiyam, organized "Don Bosco Children's Parliament and Children's Fest. The program was held on November 25, 2023, at the Rotary Community Hall, Kollam. Mrs. Elizabeth Lisy (Headmistress, Balika Mariam School, Pattathanam) inaugurated the Children's Parliament. The 21 elected members of parliament sworn in as members taking the oath from the President of children's Parliament, Ms. Anjana. Mrs. Agnes John (Chairperson, FCDP) presided over the function. Mr. Henry Bernard Lopez (President, Rotary Club Quilon Heritage), Ms. Veronica Antony (TMS, President) and Rev. Fr. Joby Sebastian (Director FCDP-TMS, DBCF) spoke on the occasion. Dr. Seena Gopinathan (Associate Professor, Department of Home Science, Sree Narayana College for Women, Kollam) led an awareness class for children on the theme 'Learn to Lead'.

Children's Parliament is begun with the idea of actively involving children in decision-making, developing leadership skills, civic responsibility, social consciousness, and thus promoting democratic values.

The children's Parliament inauguration was followed by Children's Fest. (Add......... mention items, no. of Students, fun etc. The organisation function were led by the DBYF and staff under the leadership of Rev.Fr.Jithin MS (Asst. Director FCDP) and Bindhu Harrison (DBCF coordinator).
