EMPOWERING FISHERMEN COMMUNITIES ; THROUGH SKILL DEVELOPMENT

Fish and Food Processing class which was organized at St. Anne's Convent Sakthikulangara, As part WYEP project culminated in a vibrant Food Fest and certificate distribution ceremony on October 28 2024. The event was Inaugurated by Fr. Bajiu Julian, (Vicar General, Diocese of Quilon). The event celebrated the empowerment of women from the fishing community through skill development. Benefactors and well-wishers attended the programme, witnessing the trainees' culinary expertise. The Food Fest showcased dishes prepared by the women themselves, including Beef and Chicken Cutlets, Samosas, Chicken Soup, Fried Rice, Kappa, Fish Curry, and Chicken Curry. This initiative aimed to equip women with essential skills, enhancing their employability, entrepreneurial potential, and financial independence. By acquiring food processing expertise, these women hope to transform their lives, fostering confidence, self-reliance, and community growth.
