EMPOWERING WOMEN THROUGH SKILL TRAINING

Fishermen Community Development Programme organised a training class for women on umbrella making, which has begun at the FCDP hall. The class was led by Mrs. Latha Rajan (Faculty, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Kottayam). Umbrella-making is an area that provides sustainable sources of income and empowerment for women entrepreneurs. With relatively low initial investment, it allows women to work from home, enabling them to balance work and family responsibilities. it also enhances their entrepreneurial skills, boosts their confidence, and provides a source of income that supports their families.
