Beach Cleaning Campaign

Don Bosco Youth Forum an initiative of FCDP, in collaboration with Kollam Corporation and Rotary Club of Thangasseri organized a beach cleaning campaign on 18 th September 2021. As the world celebrated Ozone Day on 16 th September, Don Bosco Youth Forum in an effort to generate awareness on the impact of climate change among the coastal community organized this programme. The chairperson of Kerala State Youth Welfare Commission Dr. Chintha Jerome, inaugurated the campaign and appreciated the youths for this initiative. During the inaugural function, E. A Joseph Memorial and Agnes Joseph Memorial Scholarships were handed over to two deserving students by Dr. Chintha Jerome. The DBYF members who excelled in their 10 th and 12 th standard were also honoured on this occasion. Dr. Sindha Mendez (Chairperson, FCDP), Mr. N. Tomy (Councillor, Pallithottam Division), Mr. Sajeev Soman (Councillor, Udayamarthandapuram), Mr. Vipin Kumar (President, Rotary Club of Thangasseri), Mr. Ambili (Assistant Governor, Rotary Club of Thangasseri) and Mr. Georgie Philip (Secretary, Rotary Club of Thangasseri) presided the inaugural function. Ms. Shalini, Junior Health Inspector, from Kollam Corporation provided the instructions for segregating waste before handing over bags for collecting the same. Rotary Club of Thangasseri sponsored gloves, masks, sanitizer and refreshment for the youths.
