Small scale women fish vendors in the coastal region of Kollam are a vulnerable group often sidelined and exploited. The meeting consisted of representatives from Fishermen Welfare Society (FWS) and South Indian Federation of Fishermen Societies (SIFFS) besides FCDP. Prior to the meeting, a survey had been conducted by FCDP to identify the needs and problems of the women fish vendors based on which a report was also prepared. Present at the meeting at FCDP were Mr. Xavier Joseph (Managing Director, SIFFS), Mr. Vivekananda (Director, Fisheries Managing Resource Centre), Mr. Teelar (Facilitator of innovation, FWS), Mr. Kurien Kattikaran (Advisor, FWS), Fr. Joby Sebastian (Director, FCDP), Sr. Mary K (Asst. Director, TMS) and Coordinators of FCDP & TMS.
