“Mazhavillu” - an intervention programme for adolescents

“Mazhavillu” - an intervention programme for adolescents conducted by FCDP & TMS in collaboration with District Mental Health Programme, Kollam.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Harikumar (Dt. Programme Manager, National Health Mission, Kollam). Dr. Sindha Mendez (Chairperson, FCDP), Adv. Vinitha Vincent (Councilor, Pallithottam), Dr.B.S Mini (Nodal Officer, National Mental Health Programme, Kollam) and Sr. Cecily Paul (Ast. Director, FCDP-TMS) spoke at the ceremony that preceded.

The programme was designed to help the adolescents from coastal belt and thus promote the mental health of young adults through Life Skill sessions, Role Plays, Group Activities and Group Counselling sessions. Besides, clients identified with problem were followed up with individual counselling the team including representatives from DMHP and FCDP were present in the programme.
