A training program was conducted for the women drivers under the We-Auto project at
Mahindra Service centre. The one-hour long session started at 3:15pm. Fr. Joby Sebastian
(Director, FCDP) introduced Mr. Jamin, Technical manager and Mr. Jithin, asst. Service
manager (Mahindra).
Mr. Jamin started the session giving general guidelines with regard to charging, battery etc.
like how the battery should be drained to the maximum before the next charging, the need
to have a circuit braker in case of power variations, how the vehicle should be plugged for 8
hours straight once in every four days. Mr. Jamin explained the do's and don'ts while driving
an electric vehicle. After the introductory session the drivers were given chance to clear
their doubts as they were all using the vehicle for the past one month.
Questions were asked with regard to the maximum load that can be carried in the vehicle
and charge consumption when the load is high concerns were also raised about charging
throughout the night.
The session was attended by Sabeena, Seena, Mary, Sunitha, Manju - the beneficiaries of
the first phase of the We-auto project and Shiny, who is a part of the organization working
as the driver of 'Vishappinu Vida' vehicle.
The training ended by 4:15 pm with a vote of thanks by Ms. Anjali Joseph (Project Co-
ordinator).
